കുറച്ചുകൂടി കൃത്യമായ ഒരു തലക്കെട്ടിനു വേണ്ടി പണ്ട് സ്കൂളിൽ വച്ച് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് പഠിപ്പിച്ച സ്വർണലത ടീച്ചർ കുറച്ച് നർമ്മം കലർത്തി പറഞ്ഞ അൺസഹിക്കബിൾ എന്ന വാക്ക് കൂടി ഉപയോഗിക്കേണ്ടിവരും. അതായത് "ചെകുത്താന്റെ ഓരോരോ 'അൺസഹിക്കബിൾ' ലീലാവിലാസങ്ങൾ". ചെകുത്താൻ എന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചത് മറ്റൊന്നിനെയും അല്ല, ഇപ്പോൾ മലയാളം സിനിമ വാർത്തകളിൽ നിറഞ്ഞുനിൽക്കുന്ന L2 എംമ്പുരാൻ എന്ന സിനിമ തന്നെ.
അങ്ങനെ മിക്കവാറും വർഷങ്ങൾ ഒന്നും ഈസ്റ്ററിനു മുൻപുള്ള 50 നോമ്പ് മുഴുവൻ നോക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കാറുള്ള ആളല്ല ഞാൻ. എങ്കിലും ഈ വർഷം 50 നോമ്പ് മുഴുവൻ നോക്കാമെന്ന് ഞാൻ കരുതി. പക്ഷേ ചെകുത്താന്റെ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ വളരെ ശക്തിയുള്ളതാണ് എന്ന് ഈ കഴിഞ്ഞ 25 ദിവസം കൊണ്ട് മനസ്സിലായി. ഇപ്പോൾ പാതി നോമ്പുവരെ എത്തിനിൽക്കുന്ന ഈ സമയത്ത്, ആകെ രണ്ടുദിവസം കോഴിയിറച്ചി കഴിക്കേണ്ടി വന്നത് ഒഴിച്ചാൽ നോമ്പ് ഏറെക്കുറെ കുഴപ്പമില്ലാതെ മുന്നോട്ടുപോയി എന്ന് തന്നെ പറയാം.
നോമ്പു തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ ആകെയുള്ള ഒരു സങ്കടം പാതി നോമ്പ് കഴിയുന്ന അടുത്ത ദിവസം തന്നെ മലയാള സിനിമ ലോകം മുഴുവൻ ഉറ്റുനോക്കുന്ന L2 എംമ്പുരാൻ സിനിമ റിലീസ് ആകുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതായിരുന്നു. എങ്കിലും ഈ സിനിമയുടെ ഒരു കപ്പാസിറ്റി ഒക്കെ വെച്ച് അത് തിയേറ്ററിൽ തന്നെ ഈസ്റ്റർ കഴിഞ്ഞാലും കാണാം എന്ന് കരുതി ആശ്വസിച്ചു. ഇതിൻറെ ആദ്യഭാഗമായ ലൂസിഫർ സിനിമ 2019-ൽ ഇറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ ചെകുത്താന്റെ പേരുള്ള സിനിമയാണ് എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു എൻറെ കെട്ടിയോൾ അന്ന് അത് കാണുന്നത് നിരുത്സാഹപ്പെടുത്തി. അതൊക്കെ കഴിഞ്ഞു അവള് വിവാഹമോചനം ഒക്കെ വാങ്ങി അവളുടെ വഴിക്ക് പോയി. അത് ചെകുത്താന്റെ വഴിയാണോ അതോ ദൈവത്തിൻറെ വഴിയാണോ എന്ന് ആർക്കറിയാം. എന്തായാലും ഞാൻ ലൂസിഫർ സിനിമ പിന്നീട് മിനി സ്ക്രീനിൽ കണ്ടു. അന്ന് ആ സിനിമ തിയേറ്ററിൽ കാണാത്തതിനെ പറ്റി കുറച്ചു വിഷമം ഒക്കെ തോന്നി. അതിൻറെ അടുത്ത ഭാഗമെങ്കിലും തിയേറ്ററിൽ കാണാമെന്ന് അന്ന് കരുതി. ലൂസിഫർ അഥവാ ചെകുത്താൻ എന്തൊക്കെയോ രീതിയിൽ ഒരു നന്മയുള്ള ചെകുത്താൻ ആണെന്ന് ആ സിനിമ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ തോന്നിയിരുന്നു. അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ലൂസിഫർ സിനിമയിലെ ഡയലോഗ് പോലെ "യുദ്ധം നന്മയും തിന്മയും തമ്മില്ലല്ല തിന്മയും തിന്മയും തമ്മിലാണല്ലോ".

English teacher, Swarnalatha, who once used the word "unsahikkable"
(With the meaning unbearable. Sahanam in Malayalam mean to bear with) with a
dash of wit. Thus, it would be something like "The devil's various
'unsahikkable' playful antics." By devil, I am not referring to anything
else but the movie L2: Empuraan, which is currently
dominating Malayalam cinema news.
I
am not someone who usually tries to observe the entire 50-day Lent period
before Easter. However, this year, I decided to complete the full 50-day fast.
But over the past 25 days, I have realized that the devil's temptations are
indeed powerful. Now, having made it halfway through the fast, I can say that
apart from having to eat chicken on two occasions, the fast has mostly gone
smoothly without much trouble.
When
I started the fast, the only regret I had was that the highly anticipated L2: Empuraan
movie, which the entire Malayalam cinema world was eagerly waiting for, is
releasing the day after the halfway point of the fast. However, considering the
scale of the movie, I consoled myself, thinking that I could watch it in
theaters even after Easter. When Lucifer, the first part of
this film, was released in 2019, my wife discouraged me from watching it,
saying it was a movie with the devil's name. Eventually, she ended up getting a
divorce and went her own way. Whether that was the devil's path or God's path,
who knows? Anyway, I later watched Lucifer on the small screen.
At that time, I felt a bit disappointed for not having seen it in theaters. I
then hoped to catch the sequel in theaters. Interestingly, while watching Lucifer,
it felt like the so-called devil had a certain nobility. Otherwise, as the
movie's dialogue suggests, "The battle isn't between good and evil; it's
between evil and evil."
However,
the recent news about L2: Empuraan made me even more

apparently changing the villain's name. Now, if I want to see the current
version, I need to watch it in theaters before Wednesday. As a Christian who is
trying to peacefully observe the 50-day fast, won't they allow me to do so?
